Looking for a gut-friendly post-workout snack that’s healthy, easy and delicious? We’ve got one for you!

Being health conscious throughout your life for the right reasons is extremely important. It’s not just about losing weight, it’s so much more than that! If your main concern is only to lose weight, that can be a very unhealthy and toxic perspective. It can lead to obsessive behaviors that can be dangerous for you. But Alhamdulillah, if your main concern is to take care of your body because it is a trust from Allah you’re on the right track, inshaAllah. I’m always looking for ways to improve our health and last year I came across the importance of gut wealth.

Our gut is the foundation of everything. It aids in the digestion of the foods we eat, absorbs nutrients, and uses it to fuel and maintain our body. So, if your gut is imbalanced and your immune system isn’t working properly, your serotonin and hormones won’t either, making it more challenging to stay healthy. Your gut is also where your body gets rid of metabolic waste and toxins. However, if you have an unhealthy gut, your body will struggle to rid itself of those toxins. If this occurs, it can cause many issues, including chronic fatigue, chronic illnesses and inflammation throughout the body. That’s why people experience symptoms such as brain fog, diarrhea, constipation, gas, joint pain, etc. You may not realize it, but the brain is the second “gut”; therefore, if your gut isn’t working, your brain is struggling, too. Do you think you’re keeping your gut healthy?

SubhanAllah, amazing right?. And what it is more amazing is our beloved Nabi (SAW) has already told us about the importance of taking care of our stomach, i.e. our gut, by being mindful of what we consume and not overeating, etc.

Now, there are certain foods that are excellent in aiding our gut health stay strong. We should try and include them in our everyday diet. Many foods are good for our gut, such as fermented foods, garlic, collagen-boosting foods, and the list goes on.

Here is a super easy, gut-healthy snack that also makes a great, easy post-workout snack. Treat yourself to a healthy and delicious recipe, or include it in your post-workout meal routine. Don’t forget to let us know what your taste buds thought!
